Woodland Jay

O off I went a stalking the elusive woodland Jay....I staked out an eating spot and waited in the car...and waited...waited. He saw me no doubt as I never saw him once and as time ticked by I had to go. After picking up Angie on the return up the drive...there he was mopping up the stuff I had left behind .....he was gone in a flash of colours as I passed his dinner by. You have to laugh at this birding lark...its ups and downs but it was not really wasted as I photographed Pheasant, Coal Tit, Blue Tit , Great Tit, Robin and a first for me a Nuthatch.
Round one and two to the Jay.....but I will be back and hopefully lucky.

  4. I'll have to look up a Woodland Jay to see if they are much different from our Blue Jays. You have such interesting birds in your little corner of the world. That photo of the Bullfinch on your sidebar is exquisite! ~karen
