Dipper.

Dipper.....Cinclus cinclus
The record shot of the Dipper is the best I have come up with so far...but I am working on it and hope to get a better shot rather soon.

  1. The reticent Dipper 'pon riparian perch. Still an attractive composition - shows the habits/habitat nicely.

I cannot get up close enough to do them justice...but I am working on it.

  4. Hello Stuart
I agree it shows the habitat and I have watched them swim on the water and dive underneath. But they do seem a very wary bird so a little more fieldcraft is called for before I get the good shot.

  6. Hi Jan.

Yes I have noticed it does seem to be absent in the Midlands and the eastern parts of the country south of Grimsby.

  7. I love these little river birds.
A few days ago i saw a Kingfisher in a sewer line
(It used to be a stream ) near my house.
Too bad people don´t value these little streams
    so filled with life.
