Golden Eagle.

It emerges that the bird we observed being mobbed by a quintet of Buzzards was indeed a Golden Eagle.
No record has been recorded since the early 1800's (I believe) in the County of Cornwall.
The only two people who it appears to have seen this bird is Angie and myself...so a mega rarity for the county and a mega patch and life tick for us both.

  2. Thank you Ashley for your comment. It is a shame you were not there along with the other Stithians regs. One never can be sure where or when the next mega will turn up.

  3. Point 1 = The first and last Golden Eagle in the county was 1810 not 183o.

Point 2 = Ashley, as Trevor has already stated it's not the counties first.
