Frightening The Natives.

The weather was dark, dismal and threatening rain.
The winds at Hell's Mouth had convinced me that..if I wished to retain possession of my head wear then one with an under chin cord would be needed.
So I set out on the Dam Walk in Full Camouflage sporting my *Cowboy Hat* as Angie calls it -incidentally I do have a Bullhide Cowboy Hat that I had shipped out from the States- with no intention of frightening the natives or wildlife.
The rest is history if you have read Angie's blog.

Soon Be Scraping The Barrel.

A quieter week or two lies ahead.

Golden Eagle.

It emerges that the bird we observed being mobbed by a quintet of Buzzards was indeed a Golden Eagle.
No record has been recorded since the early 1800's (I believe) in the County of Cornwall.
The only two people who it appears to have seen this bird is Angie and myself...so a mega rarity for the county and a mega patch and life tick for us both.

New Camera.

I am still getting to grips with the settings of the new camera. Auto focus is new to me and I think I am a little too eager at times.
The main test will come over the weekend when it is taken into the field.

My Favourite Coves and Coastal Villages.

Church Cove located on the Lizard Peninsular is an extremely picturesque village with the Olde Worlde charm easily associated with the Constable paintings or Hardy’s Wessex
The church is at the top end of the village
Walk down the winding lane past the rows of much photographed thatched cottages that lead down to the cove and the disused lifeboat station.... taking in the breathtaking scenery.
Nature lovers are well catered for by the magnificent cliffs with their splendid coastal walks rich in rare plants due to the mild climate.
The area is a haven for wildlife with birdsong filling the air at every corner.

Chough's and Chuffed.

Good Fridays visit to the Lizard ,Kynance,Goonhilly Downs and a walk the complete circuit of Stithians Reservoir.

The highlight was seeing ( perfect scope view) two Chough's at the Lizard Peninsular.
Kynance failed to yield up the Dartford Warblers so we tried again at Goonhilly Downs and dipped again.

We did the whole Stithians Reservoir walk later .

Water and Trees..The Final Push.
